Fold 'n Stitch Wreath

The Fold 'n Stitch Wreath by Poorhouse Quilt designs is a fun and easy project to complete. The wreath can be used on your wall or door but it also makes a great table topper or centerpiece.

Use your favorite seasonal fabrics to make this wreath pop.  Keep reading to see some photos of different versions of this wreath that we've made. You can embellish them with buttons, beads, or any other items you can find.

Making the Wreath

The Fold'n Stitch Wreath pattern is by Poorhouse Quilt Designs.  Since this is a purchased pattern, we cannot show you how to make the wreath.   But, get some ideas on making your own wreath by looking at the many different versions we've made.

The Bosal precut stabilizer squares make the Fold'n Stitch Wreath quick and easy to make.  These stabilizer squares are fusible foam squares.  This gives the wreath the stiffness to hold its shape when hanging.

Holiday Fold 'n Stitch Wreath

Below is a holiday version of this wreath with some small beads at the points. This wreath uses a holiday snowflake fabric for the background fabric, a holiday maroon fabric for the feature fabric, and a green holly fabric for the back fabric.

Patriotic Fold 'n Stitch Wreath

Below is a patriotic version of this wreath. I used some small star buttons on each point.  The background fabric is a dark blue star fabric.   For the feature fabric is a super cute patriotic bugs fabric.   A patriotic fireworks fabric is used for the back.  This is a wonderful wreath to hang on my door for July 4th and other patriotic holidays.

Fall Fold 'n Stitch Wreath

This fall wreath was made by my friend Wendy. I like her version and fabric choices.  She used an orange fabric for the background which complements the leaf fabric used for the feature fabric.  Another leaf fabric was used for the back fabric.  A few tacking stitches were used at the points to hold them together.

Sunflower fold 'n stitch Wreath

I saw a version of this sunflower wreath and just had to make one for myself. I love sunflowers and this is a fun version with little sunflower and ladybug buttons. I also created a couple of leaves and sewed them to the back of the wreath.

The brown fabric is appliqued to the squares after they are turned but before they are zig-zagged.  Here are the steps:

1. Create the squares with the Bosal as instructed in the pattern.
2. Back a piece of brown fabric with Heat 'n Bond Lite.
3. Cut six 4" squares of brown fabric.
4. Cut the 4" squares across the diagonal to make 12 triangles.
5. Place each triangle over the corner of the squares and iron to adhere.
6. Zig-Zag around the brown triangle.
7. Zig-Zag around the remainder of the square as instructed in the pattern.
8. Continue with the pattern instructions.

To make the leaves, draw a leaf pattern on a piece of paper and then cut out four pieces from green fabric adding a 1/4" seam allowance. Sew them with right sides together leaving an opening to turn. Turn them to the right side and press. Sew around the edge with a topstitch which will sew closed the opening. Optionally sew some veins onto the leaf. Place and hand sew the leaves onto the wreath.

Optionally, hand sew on the buttons to the wreath.  I love the little sunflowers and lady bug buttons on my wreath!
