With fall quickly approaching, it is time to decorate your home with fun fall-themed and Halloween decorations. Decorating for fall wouldn't be complete without pumpkins.
One of the best parts of the fall season is going to the pumpkin patch and choosing the perfect pumpkin. But if you want to avoid the mess and fuss of real pumpkins use artificial pumpkins. DIY faux no-carve pumpkins are a fun, festive fall and Halloween craft for all ages. The pumpkins can be stored away so you can display them year after year.
There are so many ways to dress up a fake pumpkin. You can paint them, decoupage them, glitter them to name a few. What about buttons? This tutorial will show you how to decorate an artificial pumpkin with buttons. Because there are no sharp tools involved, kids can make their own button pumpkin.
We have many free Halloween sewing, kids, and cross-stitch craft tutorials and ideas.

HOW TO MAKE PUMPKIN BUTTON CRAFT
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Faux Pumpkin
- Hot Glue Gun and/or E6000 glue
- Tape Measure
- Bow (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO MAKE A BUTTON PUMPKIN
STEP 1: GATHER SUPPLIES
Purchase all the supplies needed to make the button pumpkin at your favorite craft store or online. Find some links below for purchasing supplies.
STEP 2: DIVIDE PUMPKIN INTO SECTIONS
To make the button pumpkin, the pumpkin must be divided into sections. For a small pumpkin, you may want only 6 sections; for a larger pumpkin more.
After deciding on the number of sections, with a tape measure, measure the circumference of the middle of the pumpkin. Let's find the perfect half of the pumpkin by dividing the measurement by two. On the pumpkin, mark the halfway points with a pencil and draw a line vertically to the stem of the pumpkin.
Now, divide the measurement by the number of sections and mark the pumpkin accordingly.
STEP 3: ATTACH BUTTONS
To the pencil line, apply a line of glue with a hot glue gun or E6000 glue. Begin attaching buttons to the glue randomly. Note: If a child is making this project, please use the E6000 glue.
STEP 4: CONTINUE ADDED BUTTONS
Continue applying glue to the section lines and attaching buttons.
STEP 5: COVER TOP WITH BUTTONS
When all the line sections are finished, apply glue to the top of the pumpkin and cover it with buttons. You can cover the top with as many buttons as you want.
STEP 6: ADD BOW
If desired, attach a bow with glue. For this bow, we glued two buttons together and glued them to the center of the bow.
It's complete. Pretty up your home with this cute as a button pumpkin.
