SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:

  • 6 1/2" square of felt
  • For handle: Felt strip 3/4" x 8" or 8" piece of ribbon
  • Needle and Thread
  • Two small buttons
  • Ruler
  • Pen or pencil
  • Scissor

INSTRUCTIONS :

STEP 1: FOLD FELT

With the 6 1/2" square of felt, fold it into a triangle.

STEP 2: SEWING

With a ruler, measure from each corner toward the center and draw a line.

Thread the needle with thread that matches the color of the felt fabric. Bring the two ends of the thread together and tie a knot at the end.

Bring the needle up at the fold on the marked line.  Begin stitching along the marked line using a running stitch; stopping about 1/4 inch from the top.

Repeat the stitching on the other line.

STEP 3: FOLDING

Take one corner and fold it

Repeat with the other side.

Tack at corner

STEP 4: BUTTONS

Sew the buttons on and cut a small slit in felt for the button to go though.

STEP 5: HANDLES

The handles for the purse can be with made from felt or ribbon.  If using felt, cut a strip 3/4" wide by 8" long.  Fold the felt in half lengthwise and use a running stitch to hold it together.

If using ribbon, just cut a piece 8" long.

Attach the handle to the sides of the purse by using small stitches to attach it.18 inch doll purse
