Quilling is a beautiful art form that takes patience and time, but it is well worth the effort. This page is full of lovely free quilling patterns to choose from and get started in this fun and pretty craft!
What is quilling?
Quilling is a paper art form. Using strips of paper, the artist rolls, shapes, and glues these coiled strips to create a picture or design.
This art begins with rolling the strips into coils of different tightness, then manipulating the coils into different shapes. The various quilling shapes are then glued together to create 3D art.

One of the more popular things to make is quilling cards. The quilling is built on a nice foundation of cardstock and turns any greeting card into a special quilled masterpiece to give to someone special.
Keep in mind that quilling is a 3D art form and doesn’t mail well. The beautiful coils will most likely get crushed in the process of mailing.
However, these cards are perfect for gifting in person, especially along with a present for the lucky recipient.
I’m thinking of using some of the free holiday quilling patterns below to make Christmas ornaments for my extending family this year. Check out the cute reindeer pattern from Red Ted Art.
