Basket weaving is a craft that dates back thousands of years and has been part of many cultures. It involves the creation of baskets using a variety of materials like wood, grasses, reeds, and vines.
Needlepointers.com has rounded up a free listing of regional, state, national and international basket weaving guilds, basket associations and fiber weaver guilds.
If you are a basket weaver or are interested in learning basket making and weaving, the organizations on this page will be extremely useful.
Joining a guild or association enables the basket maker to bond with those sharing an interest in basket weaving, as well as the opportunity to take classes from professional crafters and instructors in your area; especially if you are a new weaver wanting to learn more about the craft.
We have a great page with the basics of basket weaving along with a page full of free basket weaving projects.
If you’d like your guild to be included on this list, please use the Contact Form to give us the guild name, the location, a brief description and your web link.
Happy Weaving!
