DIME Exquisite Polyester Machine Embroidery Thread Summer Sizzle Thread Kit

This is Chris from Needlepointers.com and I would like to introduce you to Exquisite Polyester Machine Embroidery Thread by DIME, Designs in Machine Embroidery.  These machine embroidery threads are high quality and have beautiful colors.

DIME gifted us this package of Summer Sizzle Colors and these colors are so yummy!  As soon as I saw them, I wanted to use them in my machine embroidery projects.  

I decided to try them out on several kitchen towels and also to make some freestanding lace jewelry.  I have plans to make some other summer projects with these colors so subscribe to our newsletter so you won't miss our new projects.

This machine embroidery thread kit comes with 24 colors that express the vibrance of summer and are perfect for embroidering flowers, butterflies, waves and sunshine. This thread is 40 weight and comes in large 1000-meter spools.  I love the vibrant colors and the shine that comes from the spool.

The machine embroidery thread spool collection comes in this plastic packaging.  The plastic holder can be used to keep them organized but it wouldn't be good for long-term storage.

The machine embroidery thread colors are brilliant!  The blues and greens would be perfect for embroidering waves.  There are many yellows included for embroidering sun and flowers.  The pinks, purples, orange, and reds make stunning flowers, as you'll see in the photos below.

Some of the colors are even more neon in color which really brings out the color.

Kitchen Towel Designs

I decided to try out the threads on these kitchen towels and the colors did not disappoint!  The towels I used are from All About Blanks and are plain cotton flatweave towels.  I can add a fabric border or some lace to the bottom of these towels before gifting them.

How to Stabilize the towels for Machine Embroidery

For the stabilizers on the towels, I used a sticky back tear-away stabilizer and another layer of tear-away stabilizer to be sure the designs were well supported and the towels did not stretch or shift.

Above you can see the sticky back stabilizer was added to the design area of the towel.  I hooped the tear-away stabilizer and towel in the hoop before stitching.

Spring Flowers Towel - Design by DIME

This first towel was embroidered with a free pattern from DIME called Spring Flowers.  The design was set up to use different exquisite thread colors but instead of using their colors, I just had fun picking colors from this set of summer thread colors.  It turned out really pretty.

Spring Word Art Towel - Designs By JuJu

This second towel pattern is from Designs By Juju and came in their Spring Word Art set.  I love the shade of yellow and how the words pop with the blue & pink colored machine embroidery thread.

If you look closely at the second E in Bees, you will see a slight stitch issue.  This was the first towel I stitched with these designs and I did not use the sticky back stabilizer.  The towel stretched or shifted a bit while stitching causing the misalignment.  I didn't realize how stretchy these towels actually were.

I corrected this for the other towels and added a layer of sticky back stabilizer to be sure the towels did not stretch or shift while stitching.

My thoughts on Exquisite Thread

This is the first time I’ve tried DIME Exquisite Polyester thread and I am really impressed.  The thread did not break and these designs all stitched out beautifully.  These large 1000-meter spools will stitch a lot of designs!

The summer colors are absolutely beautiful and have a fabulous shine to them.  The vibrant colors were stitched into beautiful flowers and words in the projects I made. 

This Exquisite brand of machine embroidery thread is more expensive than some threads but the high quality, fabulous colors, and large spools make it worth the money.  

Busy Bees & Flowers Towel - Designs by JuJu

This last towel design is from the Busy Bees & Flowers Set also by Designs by Juju.  I hope you can see how pretty the flower colors are on this towel and how beautiful they are stitched.  I am just in love with these colors!

Free-Standing Lace Jewelry - Designs by DIME

I also decided to try out these machine embroidery threads on free-standing lace earrings.  This is another pattern by DIME, the Just Earrings Set.  Needlepointers.com was also gifted this pattern to try out. 

As you can see, these threads will make some fun summer earrings.  I plan to make a tutorial on creating these earrings in the near future, so subscribe to our newsletter so you won’t miss it!
