Looking to bring new life to your kitchen? You don’t have to break the bank to do it! Use your crochet skills to make crochet placemats, doilies, table runners and more!
Let’s start with our crochet placemat patterns! I’m starting here because I prefer placemats over tablecloths (I know, not everybody does, so that is why you will also find crochet tablecloth patterns as well!)
My first kitchen table was a large, rectangular oak table. I loved the naked look of the wood, but I soon found that the surface was not as hard and strong as I thought. Plates began leaving scratch marks, and it was looking pretty bad.
Crochet Placemat Patterns
I believe a square or rectangular table looks great with rectangular placemats. Not sayin’ you couldn’t go with ovals or circles; a lot of you would like that, I’m guessing. But I like corners to stay with corners.
Because we all have differing preferences when it comes to placemats, we were able to give you a variety of crochet placemat patterns.
You’ll find crochet placemats in ovals, circles and rectangles.
I now have a beautiful antique round oak table that has been in my family for ages. You might guess that I like ovals or circular crochet placemat patterns for this table.
One of my favorites is the Oval Placemat and Coaster pattern from Yarnspirations. I know this would look lovely on my antique table; even the neutral colors in the crochet placemat would be perfect!
This crochet placemat pattern is a beginner pattern, yet it looks very sophisticated and elegant. I’d love a set!
Crochet Table Runner Patterns
Many of you prefer tablecloths or table runners over placemats…that’s cool with me. Here you can find crochet tablecloth patterns and table runners that would look lovely on your table.
The old fashioned Lacy Flower Runner from Art of Tangle looks straight out of great grandmother's kitchen! The sample runner is made in lilac, mint green and ecru, which looks so pretty and vintage.
To make the table runner, you would crochet 20 squares. You could easily add more to make this into a beautiful crochet tablecloth pattern!
Crochet Doily Patterns
Crochet doilies are coming back in fashion. I remember my grandmother having several handmade doilies in her living room and bedrooms to add to her cozy home decor.
Here you will find lovely detailed crochet doily patterns to recreate the vintage look that we all remember.
There are two I’d like to highlight, though all of them are beautiful, and you must see them all!
I love the Japanese Dahlia Doily from Yarnspirations. It is an intermediate crochet doily pattern, with scallops that radiate out from the center. The directions call for a thicker size 3 thread that makes it a quick crochet doily pattern.
It will definitely show off your crochet stitching skills!
The other crochet doily patterns that I love are the oval pineapple patterns. We have links to several sites that will teach you how to make this beautiful lacy crochet doily.
It would be perfect on your table under a special serving dish or as home decor in other rooms of your home.
We have more!
Scroll down so you don’t miss the special Christmas crochet placemat pattern. It would be so festive for your holiday table.
You can also find crochet coaster patterns on this page, some of them to match the placemat patterns.
The vintage-looking crochet bowl and jug covers to keep insects out of your food are both practical and pretty. Take a peek!
The roll and go crochet placemat pattern is the bomb! With a space for your utensils, you just roll up the placemat and head out for your picnic!
There are so many crochet patterns on this page that you just have to look yourself!
