NEEDED FOR PROJECT:
- Yarn
- Knitting Needles - Size 10
- Double-Pointed Knitting Needles - Size 5
- Tapestry Needle
- Black Felt
- Felt Glue
- Scissor
Instructions for the doll trick-or-treat bag
STEP 1: HOW TO KNIT THE TREAT OR TREAT BAG
Knit the bag body piece. Use the instructions below to knit the bag.
Using the #10 knitting needles, cast on 12 stitches.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: Purl
Continue knitting one row and purling the next row until piece measures 6”, ending with a purl row.
Knit the next 4 rows.
Bind off.
STEP 2: HOW TO MAKE THE BAG HANDLE - I-CORD
Using #5 double pointed needles cast on 3 stitches. Knit I-cord until it measures 7”. To learn how to make I-cord click the link for a full tutorial.
STEP 3: SEW SIDES
Fold the bag in half and sew the sides together using the mattress stitch. Mattress Stitch Tutorial Here
STEP 4: Attach i-cord
Attach I-cord as a handle by sewing to each side of the bag.
STEP 5: HOW TO MAKE EYES, NOSE, AND MOUTH for the bag
Cut out felt pieces for the eyes, nose, and mouth from the black felt.
Attach to the bag using felt glue.
