Recycle newspaper bag sleeves into yarn which can be used in crocheting, knitting and weaving projects. This type of yarn is known as plarn.
Newspaper bag yarn is made in about the same manner as plastic grocery bag yarn. However, the plastic loops are smaller and the yarn is thinner.

STEP 1:
Place the newspaper bag on a flat surface lengthwise and flatten it out.
STEP 2:
Fold the bag in half lengthwise.
Fold it a second time lengthwise.
STEP 3:
Cut bag into 1” strips. This creates loops.
STEP 4:
After cutting a lot of loops, it is time to join the loops together using a Lark’s Head knot. Place the end of loop 1 under the second loop.
Take the end of loop 1 over and in front of loop 2, now insert the end through the loop and pull to tighten.
STEP 5:
Continue joining loops together. Then roll the yarn into a ball.
It’s that simple. The plastic newspaper bag yarn is ready to use.
DON'T THROW AWAY PLASTIC BAGS. RECYCLE AND REPURPOSE THEM!
