Sewing Machine Card Project with Cricut

Today, I'm sharing a cute card I made with my Cricut machine.  This is a 3-D card with a sewing machine and flower design.  This intricately designed card has three layers and will pop open to stand up on a table.

I purchased this design from the Furrow & Feather SVG Etsy shop (link to purchase below!). The design purchase comes with a PDF with tips on cutting and instructions on assembling the card. It also includes this 5x7 envelope, which can be cut from a 12x12” sheet of cardstock.Sewing Machine Card Project - fb

WHAT YOU NEED to make this sewing machine card

INFORMATION ON MAKING THIS GREETING CARD

STEP 1: Cut the design parts

The PDF instructions included with the purchase provide information on editing the design in the Cricut design space and preparing it for cutting.

This design has many colors, so cutting it out will take a while. I saved time by cutting out three cards at once!

The photo below shows the parts cut out for one card.Sewing Machine Cricut Card Cut PartsThe design was cut using the Cricut fine-point blade and scoring stylus.

STEP 2: Glue the layers together

Use the photos in the PDF file to help glue the layers together.  I used a glue stick, and it worked well.  White glue or even double-sided tape could be used.

The sewing machine is made from 3 layers, as shown in the photo above. After gluing the three layers together, add the thread spool color and the flower center.Sewing Machine Cricut Card Sewing Machine

The flowers have several layers put together.  Start by gluing the flower layers together. Sewing Machine Cricut Card Flowers

STEP 3: Assemble the Card

The back section of the card has the score marks.  First, glue the message onto the back of the piece. Sewing Machine Cricut Card 1.17.1

STEP 4: Envelope

The purchase includes a separate design file for cutting an envelope from 12" x 12" scrapbook paper. The envelope is cut with the fine-point blade and the scoring stylus.Sewing Machine Cricut Card 1.10.1Once the envelope is cut out, fold it along the score lines and glue or tape it together.
