How to Knit the Seed Stitch


The seed stitch is a decorative stitch and creates an interesting texture. The stitch resembles tiny seeds or bumps. This stitch is worked with an even number of stitches. It is identical on both sides and lies flat.

How to knit the seed stitch

1. Cast on an even number of stitch.

2. Row 1: *K1, p1; repeat from * to end of row.

3. Row 2: *P1, k1; repeat from * to end of row.

4. Repeat rows 1 and 2 to create pattern.

 

The seed stitch is reversible so it is great for scarves and blankets.
