Once you have mastered the knit stitch and purl stitch, you can add them together to create the most used knitting stitch of all…the stockinette stitch!
This is another basic knitting stitch. With the stockinette stitch, also known as the stocking stitch, you will be able to make projects with a very smooth fabric!
This stockinette stitch is created by simply working one row of the knit stitch, then a row of the purl stitch. Just repeat that over and over, and you have made the stockinette stitch!

We also have many tutorials and videos showing how to make more intricate knitting stitches for those knitters who have been around the block and are ready to step it up a notch.
