I can still see the huge cookie tin at grandma’s. It was kept in a closet with other “grandma stuff” that I can’t remember. But the big cookie tin was filled to the top with buttons!
I wish I would have known about some button crafts ideas during the years that I was enchanted with the tin. I loved crafting, I and would have loved crafting with those amazing buttons!
I would sort the buttons, trying to see how many of the same kind I could find. I loved imagining what piece of clothing the buttons came from. There were several large, gold buttons that I was sure came from an English military uniform from the American Revolution.
Tiny pearl buttons from a wedding dress, maybe? My imagination would run wild, and I would sit for hours with the hundreds of buttons.
This page has so many button craft ideas for kids, including a popular friendship bracelet with a button tutorial.

Decoupage is also a glue, and it will work in that fashion for some of these projects. For more ideas using Mod Podge, check out our Mod Podge Crafts page!
