Last Christmas, I made kitchen towels with toppers for everyone in my family. That’s when I fell in love with KAM Snaps! If you do any sewing, you will fall in love too!
What are KAM Snaps?
KAM Snaps are strong plastic snaps that replace Mom's old sewn-on metal snaps. These colorful snaps are easy to install using a KAM Snap pair of pliers.
They can be used on any sewn project that needs to be snapped together. Our page shows how to install KAM Snaps easily on sewing projects.
KAM Snaps can be purchased at fabric and hobby stores as well as on Amazon. It is best to purchase a full set with the KAM Snap pliers included. These kits are not expensive, but it is important to be sure the snaps are the official KAM Snap brand.
How can I recognize original KAM Snaps?
Original KAM Snaps are made of a strong plastic resin and are embossed with “KAM” under the snap cap portion of the snap. Be forewarned that other snaps may claim to be KAM Snaps but are not.
Original KAM Snaps are very good quality and are the ones to purchase. They are strong. They are so strong that if installed in the wrong place, they are not easy to remove.
This page on how to remove KAM Snaps is very helpful since everyone messes up once in a while!
What projects can you make with KAM Snaps?
The list of projects that lend themselves to KAM Snaps is endless, but here are a few common projects to utilize KAM Snaps:
- Cloth baby diapers
- Totes and bags
- Baby bibs
- Fabric trays
- Gift card holders
- Pouches and snack bags
