Example of batik fabric
Batik is a method of dying fabric in which wax is applied to fabric creating a design. The wax is then removed with boiling water and the process is repeated if desired. This process creates a fabric with rich, multicolor patterns.
Batik fabric can be used in sewing quilts, wall hangings, clothes, bags, anything.
Which is the right and wrong side of the fabric? The right side of batik fabric is usually clearer, with more vibrant colors.
To illustrate the right and wrong side of batik fabric, look at the following pictures.
Right Side of Fabric - The above photo shows the right side of the fabric. Please note the dark area in the center.
Wrong Side of Fabric - This photo shows the same area of the fabric but on the wrong side. The dark area is not as vibrant.
However, when you sew with batik fabric, you can use either side. Use the one you like the best.
