- Candy Canes
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Artificial or Fresh Flowers
- Other Embellishments (optional)
how to make a candy cane vase:
STEP 1: supplies
Gather the supplies - a glass vase or glass container which is about the same size or smaller than the candy canes, candy canes, glue gun, scissors, and ribbon. The glass container should have straight sides.
STEP 2: Gluing
After warming the hot glue gun, start gluing the candy canes all the way around the outside of the glass container by running a line of hot glue down the back of the candy cane or on the container and firmly pressing the candy cane to the glass.
Keep the candy canes straight up, as close together as possible and flush to the bottom of the vase.
Continue gluing the candy canes all the way around the outside of the container until it's completely covered with candy canes.
STEP 3: Snip cellophane Paper
The candy cane paper may be quite visible at the bottom of the candy canes and at the top. With a pair of scissors, trim the excess cellophane paper.
STEP 4: EMBELLISH
Wrap some ribbon around the outside of the vase and tie a bow. The vase can be left plain or add artificial or fresh flowers or other embellishments such as balls, bells, ribbon or pine cones.
Enjoy this simple, easy and inexpensive Christmas decoration. This candy cane vase can be placed around the home in the kitchen, on the mantle, in the family room, on the bedstand and even in the bathroom to add holiday spirit throughout your home.
