STEP 1: THREADING BEADS
Thread the yarn onto a yarn needle and string 12 beads onto the yarn.
STEP 2: FOUNDATION CHAIN
Make a slip knot and place the slip knot onto the crochet hook.
Begin by making a foundation chain. To do this, chain 40. If you do not know how to make a chain stitch click the link to watch our tutorial.
If you are left-handed, we also have left-handed crochet tutorials.
STEP 3: MAKING LOOP CLOSURE
This necklace has a bead and loop clasp as a closure. After chaining the 40, it is time to make a loop for the bead and loop clasp. This loop should be just large enough to go over the bead.
To make the loop, slip stitch in the 4th chain from the hook.
STEP 4: CROCHETING
Single crochet in the next two chains.
Time to add a bead by doing a beaded single crochet. Begin by inserting the hook into the next chain and pulling up a loop. You now have two loops on the hook. Move the bead up close to the hook as you see in the above picture.
Yarn over and draw it through both loops.
The first bead has been added. Next, crochet *two single crochet, one beaded crochet*. Repeat between *s to end of row.

STEP 5: ENDING
At the end of the row, make a loop and cut the yarn.
Insert the tail of the yarn into the loop and pull it tight.
STEP 6: WEAVING TAIL
Finally, thread the yarn tails onto a yarn needle and weave the tails into the necklace.
You're done!
When you put the necklace on the doll, just put it around her neck and insert the bead into the loop.
I hope you're inspired to make your doll some beaded necklaces. There are so many colors of yarn that you can make one matching every outfit.
