If you have problems with stitching up the pattern, refer to the video tutorial for the week for some help.
Crochet STITCHES in this free amigurumi patterns
The free amigurumi patterns use basic crochet stitches like a magic loop, single crochet, single crochet two together. Almost every part of the stuffed animal starts with the magic loop and single crochet increases stitched in the round.
Since this pattern uses only a few simple crochet stitches, it’s perfect for your first stuffed animal crochet project.
Not sure how to crochet these stitches? We have YouTube video tutorials to help you:
I found that it was important to use a stitch marker to keep track of the rounds. Without the marker, you can become lost in the rounds.
Amigurumi cat and dog Tails
I thought my cat stuffie should have a longer tail. So, I stitched some extra rounds to the tail to make it longer.
Bones has the normal length tail in the pattern instructions.
Crochet cat and dog Assembly
Once you have all of the parts of the animal stitched, they are sewn onto the body using a tapestry needle and extra yarn.
Black safety eyes and black or pink safety noses can be used for the eyes and noses of these stuffies. If making this stuffed animal for a young child, I recommend using yarn to stitch the eyes and nose as the safety eyes are not safe for young children.
The animals are stuffed with polyester fiberfill.
Amigurumi Cat & Dog Collar
I used some extra scraps of yarn to make the collars and included the tags and a button from my button box.
