Once upon a time, I was a little girl whose favorite holiday was Christmas. Really, tell me what little girl wouldn’t love Christmas with all its decorations, holiday cheer and PRESENTS!
Well, this little girl grew up and completely turned her favorite holiday on its head! Yes, you guessed it...Halloween is my favorite holiday!
I’m always on the prowl for Halloween decorations to make. Although crafting with kids is fun, I’m usually looking for adult Halloween crafts.
You know, those creative Halloween crafts for adults to make that are out of this world! Creepy, festive, fun…
WREATHS
Let’s start with one of my favorites; the ever-popular holiday wreath to greet your guests. We have several DIY Halloween decorations that are perfect for your front door this fall!
- Burlap Pumpkin Wreath: Use burlap ribbon to create a pumpkin wreath to last through the entire fall season.
- Halloween Candy Bucket Wreath: Inexpensive Dollar Store items are used to make this happy Halloween decoration.
- Halloween Fabric Wreath: Make a fabric wreath without sewing! This project uses Halloween colored fabrics and a wreath frame to make a country-style wreath to decorate your door.
- Halloween Wreath: Wrap Halloween colored fabric around a cardboard cut out circle, then hot glue inexpensive decorative embellishments to finish off this fun wreath.
Costumes and Clothing
Kids of all ages love to dress up for Halloween! These adult Halloween crafts will be perfect for you to make for the kiddos to wear!
- Chat Noir Costume: Whip up this cute costume based on the superhero character Chat Noir (Black Cat) in The Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
- Halloween T-Shirt: Using a dark colored T-shirt, wooden cut-outs as stencils, and a spray bottle of bleach, make this spooky shirt to wear as your un-costume!
- How to Make an Undertale Sans Hat: If you know a fan of Undertale, I’m sure they would love to dress up as the character, Sans. The costume is simple and made complete with the easily-sewn hat for Sans’ face using a white knit cap and white and black felt.
- Korok Leaf Mask: Make a mask of the tree-children of the forest from the video game, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Everyone who plays the game loves the little Koroks, and both kids and adults would enjoy this mask.
- Spider Web Halloween Tie-Dye Shirt: Another un-costume or shirt for Halloween is made using Batik, a wax-resist dyeing technique. Here you use washable gel glue as the wax, and tie-dye using black and orange dye in spray bottles.

Halloween Home Decor
Decorate your home with the ideas we have gathered for you in our list of DIY Halloween Decorations! No matter your home decor theme, there is something for everyone here!
- Book Page Pumpkin: Grab yourself an old book or one from the dollar store for next to nothing. With some cutting (not for kids!), a bit of paint, and some embellishments, you will have a cute decoration to keep out all fall long.
- Canning Lid Pumpkin: You just have to take a peak at this project! Oh so cute and oh so easy! The rings from home canning jars, which are reusable, can be painted and joined together to make the most adorable pumpkins.
You can purchase the rings, but if you do some home canning, just use those rusty used rings for this project. Use wide mouth rings for an 8" pumpkin; small mouth rings make a pumpkin a little under 7 inches.
We are all about reusing, upcycling and repurposing items for craft projects. Check out our other recycling project ideas!
- Halloween Fabric Garland: We have a great tutorial showing you how to make an easy yet very festive garland to decorate your home. This garland would look so pretty across a fireplace mantle!
- Candy Corn Banner: Our own Needlepointers.com craft project, this fabric Halloween project looks like candy corn pennants strung together to form a pretty hanging banner.
If you like to sew and would like to try something different from the usual pumpkins and bats themes, this is perfect.
- Ghost Grater Craft: This fun DIY Halloween decoration is a project that strays from the typical Halloween idea and into the realm of ultra-creative! Repurpose an old box cheese grater into a fun ghost decoration that is perfect for indoor decorating.
- And Many More! Just keep scrolling!
There are so many other ideas on this page for you to enjoy looking at! Don’t miss the luminaries, treat bag clips, door mat, etc. There are just too many adult Halloween craft ideas on this page to mention.
If you want to find Halloween crafts for the kiddos, they are just a click away!
