WHAT YOU NEED for an 18-Inch doll fleece hat
- Fleece Fabric
- Sewing Machine
- Thread
- Scissor
- Basic Sewing Supplies
INSTRUCTIONS for the fleece hat
STEP 1: Fleece FABRIC

With a scissor, cut one piece of fleece fabric 12 1/2" x 9".
Also, cut a very thin strip of fleece about 14" long. This is used to tie the hat together at the top.
STEP 2: SEWING HAT BAND

Place the 12-1/2" x 9" piece of fleece fabric on a flat work surface with the right side of the fabric facing up. Fold the 12-1/2" edge over about 1/2" to 3/4", press and pin in place.

Sew close to the inside edge to hold it in place. This is the band of the hat.
STEP 3: SEWING SEAM

Fold the fabric with right sides together. Align short edges of the fabric and pin. Sew the sides together using a 1/4" seam. Finish the edge of the seam with a zigzag stitch.
STEP 4: GATHERING TOP OF HAT

Place the hat on the doll, gather the top of the hat together and wrap the thin fleece strip around the hat twice. Then tie a knot.

STEP 5: MAKING FRINGE

With a scissor, cut fringe at the top of the hat. To do this, cut strips about 1/2" wide.
